Shuswap Parks

A very popular park in BC's Southern Interior is Shuswap Lake Provincial Park. Yearly, thousands of tourists primarily from BC and Alberta camp there. Shuswap Lake Provincial Park is situated on the north shore of Shuswap Lake's major arm, in the community of Scotch Creek. From the town of Salmon Arm, drive about forty five minutes north to get to the park. From the city of Kamloops, the park is around 1 hour's drive east. The big encampment is equipped with a picnic space for day usage, about 275 camp sites, and a big seashore of sand and gravel.

On an long-standing delta of Scotch Creek is situated the Shuswap Lake Park. Found in the relics of semi-underground pit houses are evidences that this was the site of the Kekuli First Nations villages, used by Shuswap First Nations peoples. The park's Nature House encompasses a Kekuli model renovation, and the archaeological relics are located within the park boundaries.
